How will the first gallon of recovered wastewater be measured?

In the Water Treatment Rules, Part G. Treatment Phase #9 states, “Judges will pre-load your collection bin with 1 gallon of water to mark the 1-gallon line. The water will be emptied, and this line will be used to determine when you have successfully treated your first gallon.” So judges will physically mark a line in each team’s collection bin to indicate where one gallon of water reaches up the sides of the bin. This will take place before teams are allowed to pour the wastewater through their treatment systems.
